Dr. Benjamin Sutton was born in the George Town area of Kinston, North Carolina to Bishop Ben and Susie Sutton. He received his elementary and high school education in the city schools of Kinston. After graduation from High School, he joined the U. S. Navy, where he served for four years.
Following an honorable tour of duty with the Navy, he attended Shaw University, Raleigh, North Carolina, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science. He received a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina.
Dr. Sutton served the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for 25 years. He has made a significant impact on the disabled citizens of Hoke County, where he served as a counselor.
He received his Master of Theology and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Moriah Institute of Christian Studies, Fayetteville, North Carolina. He also holds an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Tri-County Bible College, Maxton, North Carolina.
He currently serves as the Pastor of McLean Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Bunnlevel, North Carolina. As a servant of the Most High God, he is: Compassionate in his love for others and excellent in his service to God and man; a motivator who possesses a Spirit of Excellence and
accepts nothing less; holy in his living – a man after God’s own heart;
reverent in his worship of God through submissiveness, humbleness,
devotion. He believes, teaches and exemplifies righteousness. Dr. Sutton
ministers the gospel with passion and power.
He is married to Brenda, and they have four children – Lisa, Keosha,
Meagan and Austin; and three grandchildren – Nigel, Ace, and Camille
